At LUNA / Globo Language Services, I work as a Spanish-English Medical Interpreter, supporting communication between healthcare providers and patients in clinical settings. This role has allowed me to work closely with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams while strengthening my understanding of patient-centered care, informed consent, and health communication.

My role includes responsibilities such as:

• Facilitating accurate communication between providers, patients, and families in medical settings.

• Supporting patient understanding of procedures, treatment plans, risks, and follow-up instructions.

• Maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy during sensitive healthcare conversations.

• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient communication and continuity of care.

• Applying cultural awareness and strong interpersonal skills to help reduce communication barriers.

Through this experience, I have developed stronger communication, adaptability, active listening, and professionalism in high-pressure healthcare environments. It has also reinforced my interest in improving healthcare systems by making care more accessible, understandable, and patient-centered.
